The casa is a 5 bedroom house, accommodating up to 4 resident writers at a time. Writing and reading areas are located throughout the interior and exterior so you never feel that you’re confined to your room for writing. Make the house your home, your sanctuary, during your writing retreat.
Bedrooms
Each of the four spacious guest bedrooms has a double bed, an armoire or closet and a writing desk. Two rooms have ensuite bathrooms with shower. Two rooms have a shared bath.
Common areas
The large great room is the centre of the home, two stories high with floor-to-ceiling windows facing northwest overlooking the valley and, on a clear day, the Pacific. An additional sitting room on the main floor off the great room is perfect for quiet reading or writing.
The large kitchen can accommodate four or more people preparing food at once.
Outdoor spaces
The main floor deck runs the entire length of the north side of the house and wraps around to the east side. Ample covered areas make the outdoors accessible even during rainy afternoons in the wet season. On the upper floor, a large open patio offers vistas of the Central Valley from San Jose to the Pacific Ocean. The views from all areas are spectacular.
Walk and meditate amongst the gardens and birds along the many maintained pathways around the house.
You can also roam through our cattle pastures, provided you do not harm the fences or the cows. Watch for snakes. It’s quite rare at this elevation, but not unheard of!
Refresh
Comfy chairs, hammocks and a tropical garden flank the large, refreshing pool. It maintains a comfortable temperature year-round and is easily accessible from the house along a wide tiled pathway.
