Inclusions and pricing for your Casa Mismac Costa Rica writing retreat
What's included?
- Private airport transportation
- Private bedroom with deadbolt lock, double bed, dresser or closet, writing desk, ensuite or shared bath
- Access to all common areas—living room, gathering room, kitchen, multiple decks (covered and open areas), pool, grounds
- Meals:
- Breakfast and lunch are self-serve. We provide a variety of fresh fruit, veggies, daily fresh bread, eggs, etc.
- Prepared group dinner 6 days/week
- 1 group dinner out per week (included in price)
- unlimited coffee, tea, herbal tea, water, juice throughout the day
- Light housekeeping twice per week and linen change at the end of each week
- Bath and pool towels
- Free Wi-Fi
- A 1-hour writing consultation with your host, a certified AWA writing group facilitator and writing coach, if desired
Extras
Casa Mismac does not provide the following:
- Alcohol
- Snack food
- Tours/excursions
- Massage (22,000 colones, which is about $44 USD for full-body massage by professional massage therapist in the comfort and privacy of Casa Mismac)

Upcoming availability
We are currently accepting applications for:
- July 2024.
July retreats of less than a full month may start at the beginning or middle of the month. Note your flexibility on the application form and we will work to find the best dates for your retreat. We also accommodate retreats of other lengths (i.e. 10 or 18 days, etc.). Prices will reflect the length of your stay.
Booking and refund policies
- All prices are in USD and included applicable taxes and fees.
- 25% non-refundable deposit due on acceptance or 6 months before arrival for retreats booked far in advance.
- 25% payment a month or so before arrival.
- Final 50% payment can be made at Casa Mismac upon your arrival.
In the unlikely event that Casa Mismac cancels your retreat, all payments will be refunded in full.
